mau5 coming to Londontown!

Just saw Deadmau5 post this on his Facebook the other day.  To summarise things, he will be DJing LIVE in London on Monday, 28th November near the River Thames.  The event is in partnership with Nokia, who are launching their new Lumia 800 smartphone.  It will involve a FREE 30 minute show with some impressive visuals, organised by some dude called Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs (TEED), being broadcast onto the 400 foot Millbank Tower.  Time: TBA.  Update: 9pm start.  Most importantly, he'll be making 2 remixes especially for the show!  I'll definitely be attending, so leave a comment & let me know if u wanna join me :)  If you can't make it, watch a live stream online here.

To commemorate this special occasion, check out these tracks.

RHCP Live in UK (June 2012)

Just bought tickets to the show on Sun 24 June in Sunderland.  They went on general sale at 9am this morning - so if interested I suggest you fix up, look sharp and get on it before they sell out!

For more info on the 2 UK shows, see here.
Ticketmaster page for Sunderland show here.

Take a listen to the first single from their new album I'm With You, which came out in this past August.  John Frusciante may have left, but the Red Hot Chili Peppers are still rockin, and doin it well.

'til my hip don't hop anymore

YO!  It's been a minute since I posted any hip-hop, so without further ado, check out this varied assortment of jams.  Lemme know what ya think in the comments section.

1) Lupe Fiasco ft. Ellie Goulding & Bassnectar - LightWork

First up we got Lupe Fiasco.  I'm a big fan of this Chicago native cuz I think his lyrics are a huge step above others intellectually.  Having said that, his album Lazers (which finally came out in March of this year) was a bit of a disappointment (too poppy) compared to earlier efforts.  To be fair though, he went through hell with his label to get it released.  This song is called "Lightwork" and samples a Bassnectar remix of Ellie Goulding's track "Lights".  It excites me because it's apparently part of an upcoming mixtape called Friend of the People - due out on Thanksgiving (Nov 24th).  If you wanna check out a quality older mixtape he released for free back in '09, download Enemy of the State: A Love Story from Datpiff.

Read on for more featuring KanYe, Jigga, Em, Lil Wayne, CuDi, Drake and some up-and-coming talent you should check out.
