I have 5 tracks for you today, all of blissfully brilliant electronic music.
The Field, real name Axel Willner, is a musician from Stolkholm in Sveden. Some may call this music Minimal. However I prefer Wikipedia's description, saying it falls under the genre of "Ambient Techno". This pretty little number is nearly 8 minutes of looped vocals laid over a slow piano melody from his upcoming album, aptly titled Looping State of Mind. It kinda reminds me of that period when you're really tired between resting your head on the pillow and actually drifting off to sleep. If this tune doesn't suit your fancy, don't fret. Read on for Gui Boratto, Deadmau5 and some German techno dude, all awesome tunes!
1) The Field - Then It's White (Click title to dwld)
To keep with the theme of this chillout electronica, I present to you a track by the Brazilian producer Gui Boratto, called "Azurra". Gotta give credit to my brother for this one. Quite more upbeat than the track above, but I really do love it. RE RE RE RELAXXXX
2) Gui Boratto - Azzurra (It's Not The Same Version)
Next up, I present to you Paul Kalkbrenner. This German DJ makes minimal electronic music, which I'm normally not a huge fan of. However, this summer I have become mildly obsessed with his song entitled "Aaron". It is from the soundtrack of a film called Berlin Calling, which is actually about the DJ's life after he was institutionalized for drug abuse. Respect to my homeboy Neko for introducing me to this artist.
3) Paul Kalkbrenner - Aaron
Next, I have a track remixed by one of my favourite producers, Deadmau5. Just so you know, THIS SONG IS AWESOME AWESOME AWESOME. I think it sort of slipped under the radar in the EDM world because I'd never heard it despite following him closely from day one when Pete Tong first discovered him and played "Faxing Berlin" on BBC Radio 1. That being said, it's one of my favourite remixes by the Torontonian. Props to my friend Felipe for the recommendation.
4) Filter Freq - Dirty Sexy Club Music (Deadmau5 Remix)
Lastly, I have a new progressive house tune. I can't seem to find much info about this track or the artist, but my cousin Bobo showed me it & its quite jammin, so thanks for dat.
5) Kryder - K2
PS: Leave a comment with your thoughts, thanks. Happy Friday!
Ambient Techno indeed! Check out more of Paul Kalkbrenner in his more well known track: "Sky and Sand"

one more original and soothing Kalkbrenner track: "Train"
ReplyDeleteHe actually used recorded sounds from the German Railway and Subway System, Deutsche Bahn, to turn them into another "ambient" track. Also worth a listen. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_sHAxy0NglY&feature=related
